Casa Pelicano vs Tropical Suites: Kitchens vs Full-Service in Bocas Town

Updated أكتوبر 2026

Waterfront hotels on stilts along the Bocas Town shoreline

Casa Pelicano's measured median is $95 a night; Tropical Suites is $267 — $172, or 64%, less, which is $1,204 less for seven nights. Casa Pelicano is rated 8.9 from 8 reviews and Tropical Suites 8.7 from 525; we run Casa Pelicano.

The comparison is simple: Casa Pelicano is the kitchen-and-longer-stay option; Tropical Suites is the pool-and-restaurant option. Both are in Bocas Town, so the location trade-off is small.

1.Price and rating, measured

Both stays are in Bocas Town and both figures come from the same Agoda snapshot: 119 stays, 181 nights, collected 18 October 2026, before taxes and fees. The median is the middle nightly rate, not the cheapest one-off price.

Tropical Suites$267$88–$1,0978.7 (525)Bocas Town

2.Rooms and amenities

These are the differences that change a stay, not a full facilities list. “Not stated” means the feature was not stated in the source we checked — it is not a claim that the feature is missing.

3.Who should choose Casa Pelicano

Casa Pelicano rooms and terrace in Bocas Town

Choose Casa Pelicano if you want to cook, stay longer and pay 64% less than Tropical Suites on the measured median. Every room has AC, a private bathroom and a kitchen area with a fridge, oven, coffee maker and kettle; there is also a shared kitchen, a terrace and a luggage room. There is no pool and no restaurant on site.

Casa Pelicano is the best in town for kitchens and longer stays. Our other three cover the other trip types: Blue Marlin for over-water rooms, Bocasso for groups and families, and Boho Pelicano for a budget boutique.

The trade-off is review volume: 8 Agoda reviews against 525, so the 8.9 rating has a wider margin of error, and there are no resort facilities.

4.Who should choose Tropical Suites

Choose Tropical Suites if a pool, an on-site restaurant and a full suite with a jacuzzi matter more than cooking or the price. It is a waterfront boutique hotel on 1st Street, next to the main water-taxi terminal, with a seafront pool, Merén Restaurante & Pool Club, suites with balconies, full kitchens and jacuzzi baths, and 525 Agoda reviews. Check-in is 3pm, the minimum check-in age is 18, children 10+ are welcome, and 10% tax is extra.

The trade-off is price: the measured median is $267, $172 more than Casa Pelicano, and the highest measured night is $1,097.

5.Verdict

Casa Pelicano is the better choice for self-catering and longer stays; Tropical Suites is the better choice for a pool, restaurant and full suite. On price and having a kitchen, Casa Pelicano wins; on facilities and review volume, Tropical Suites wins.

6.How we compared

Both prices come from the same Agoda snapshot: 119 stays and 181 nights, collected 18 October 2026, before taxes and fees. We compare medians rather than the cheapest one-off rate, because a median is less sensitive to a single sold-out weekend.

Tropical Suites facts come from its own site: the hotel overview, the amenities page and the hotel policies. Casa Pelicano facts come from our property data. Where a feature is not stated in a source, the table says “Not stated” rather than guessing.

A lower median is not the same as a better stay. Pick the trade-off you will actually use: a kitchen and a smaller bill at Casa Pelicano, or a pool, restaurant and full suite at Tropical Suites.
