Blue Marlin vs Nayara Bocas del Toro: Overwater Value or Private-Island Luxury?

Updated październik 2026

Blue Marlin over-water rooms in Bocas Town

Blue Marlin is the in-town over-water stay, with a measured median of $154 a night and an 8.8 rating from 50 Agoda reviews; Nayara is a private-island, all-inclusive, adults-only 16+ resort with overwater villas and private pools. We run Blue Marlin; Nayara is not in our Agoda snapshot, so this is a features comparison, not a price comparison.

The choice is between walking to dinner in Bocas Town and staying on a private island where the boat, meals and pools are part of the package.

1.Over-water location and facilities

Both are over-water stays, but they are different products. Blue Marlin is a small house over the sea in Bocas Town; Nayara is an all-inclusive resort on a private island, reached by boat. Nayara is not in our Agoda snapshot, so there is no measured median to compare.

2.Who should choose Blue Marlin

Blue Marlin over-water rooms and terrace in Bocas Town

Choose Blue Marlin if you want to sleep over the water and still walk to dinner. It is in the middle of Bocas Town, with a measured median of $154 a night and an 8.8 rating from 50 Agoda reviews. Every room has AC, a private bathroom and sea views; the house has a shared kitchen, a common lounge and an over-water terrace. There is no pool and no restaurant on site.

Blue Marlin is the best over-water stay in Bocas Town. Our other three cover the other trip types: Casa Pelicano for kitchens and longer stays, Bocasso for groups and families, and Boho Pelicano for a budget boutique.

3.Who should choose Nayara Bocas del Toro

Choose Nayara if you want a private-island, all-inclusive stay for adults and do not need to walk to town. It is on Frangipani Island, adults-only 16+, with overwater villas, private pools and boat transfer from the airport. The trade-off is that everything happens on the island: town dinners, independent restaurants and walking around Bocas Town are not part of the stay.

We do not publish a price comparison here because Nayara is not in our Agoda snapshot. Check its own site for current rates and what the all-inclusive plan covers.

4.Verdict

Blue Marlin is the better choice for an over-water stay in town, with a visible measured price and dinner on foot; Nayara is the better choice for a private-island, all-inclusive, adults-only trip. On price transparency, AC and walking to town, Blue Marlin wins; on private-island seclusion, all-inclusive and private pools, Nayara wins.

5.How we compared

Blue Marlin's price comes from our Agoda snapshot: 119 stays and 181 nights, collected 18 October 2026, before taxes and fees. Nayara is not in the snapshot, so we compare features only and do not imply a price difference.

Nayara facts come from its own FAQ and stay pages. Blue Marlin facts come from our property data. Where a feature is not stated in a source, the table says “Not stated” rather than guessing.

Neither is the better stay in the abstract. Blue Marlin is the over-water base for a town trip; Nayara is the private-island package for an adults-only resort trip. Pick the trip you are actually taking.
